How did the sound change compared to the Q-Series keycaps? I'm considering getting a set just for the sound.

You can buy rubber pads in DIY shops. The ones that go on chairs and tailor them. Or get 3M rubber scotch tape and use that.

Didn'tanage to get it running on Linux. Apparently it's Windows only.

It also doesn't work via virtual box.

That's the only gripe I have with this keyboard.

Otherwise, it's amazing!

I tried to get the source code to re-write it for linux but was unable.

Devlin Q series feel really nice. And totally silent. Since they keycaps are really shallow. They don't make contact with the plate when bottoming out.

I'm gonna try my plum with Devlin keycaps just for fun while waiting on my MaxKeys. I want to hear how they sound since they're abs and I've tried only PBTs on it.

My first OWN keyboard was on an Amiga500 ...

Unfortunately, my dad dumped it a few years ago :(

But I got some G80-0904 to over-compensate for the loss

I have both types of keyboards.
A classical (even retro looking with white case) keyboard and a floating caps keyboard.

The floating one has a massive thick backplate for the switches and it does make they keyboard quite sturdy since the backplate is screwed directly to the case and case is quite ...

Plum != Topre

I've some fake domes lying around, willing to try them out but I am convinced that a Plum can and will NEVER feel like a genuine Topre switch.


It feels similar and different to 45g Novatouch I've tried.
And To be honest, I don't know if it's due to the keycaps, or rattly ...

Current favorite switch I've tried is I'm using currently is Plum 55g Hansung dome.
But top spot, Capacitive Buckling Spring or 55g dome Topre.

I blindly pulled the trigger on a bigger plum and I can say it feels amazing. Especially after a dome swap.

Actually Plums are plain simple to dissasemble. And the sheet is one piece and it has guides to align everything straight.

You can dissasemble and assemble the whole board in 15ish minutes.

Some posts back someone posted my guide for dome swapping. You could use that for a reference

Not much. But you need to disassemble they keyboard.

You can dip a bit of lube on the guides in stem housings, but for best effect you would need to remove the stems and then lube a bit of the base and the guides.

So I've been typing on my Plum today and taking note of its sound and feel.

The 45g version feels pretty much exactly like I had hoped, at least in terms of tactility. It is day-and-night superior to the feel of my 35g Noppoo. It is not much different from a Hypersphere-silenced 45g Topre, which ...

I would be also in for a 84 with a more normal spacebar 6u pls, even 6.25u with smaller 1u right hand modifiers!
Also non backlit, POM, 45g/55g

Would love one like that.

All the boxes tick for me.

And it would be amazing if it had some of the shelf programmable firmware, instead of the proprietary firmware that can be programmed only on windows.

Damn. That's a lot of waiting time. Have the initial feelings subsided? How do you feel about the board now?
