Pushbutton switch assembly is an invention by Taneo Murata from Tokyo, Japan. Its patent number 4153829 was granted in 1979. The assignee was Alps Electric Co., Ltd.. [1]

Description

Pushbutton switch assembly

  • Inventor: Taneo Murata
  • Patent number: 4153829
  • Application number: 768982
  • Filing date: 16 February 1977
  • Issued date: 8 May 1979
  • Assigned to Alps Electric Co., Ltd.

Summary

The operation of the push button (1) switch occurs after the lever (2) is depressed which in turn pushes the zigzagged portion (14) of the spring member (12)(14b). The spring member, or the zigzagged portion of it, as a result, pushes against the center of the disc portion (27), which eventually snaps, projecting through an opening (31) of the insulating member (30), until the switch is closed.

The reversible process is obtained by the release of the push button (1), which causes the disc portion of the movable contact member (25) to snap back from the fixed contact member (32), since the resilient force exerted upon the coil spring (11) applies equally to the spring (12) and resilient members (19) as well, until the switch is opened.
