The ISO 9241 standard, entitled Ergonomics of Human System Interaction (and previously entitled Ergonomic requirements for office work with visual display terminals (VDTs)) is the ISO standard for computer workstation design specifications. It is the ISO counterpart to ANSI/HFES 100. It includes design guidelines for various input devices including keyboards.

ISO 9241-400:2007 and 9241-410:2008 are the parts that discuss keyboard specifications.

In older versions of the standard, ISO 9241-4 discussed keyboard specifications, the 1998 version being the last version using that designation.

Keyboard layouts are specified in the separate standard, ISO/IEC 9995.
