Weird NEC Keyboard with weird interface

Hey! I posted about this NEC Keyboard I got for a good deal on eBay a little while ago, and it’s finally here! For some reason, I assumed it would use a standard 5-pin din connector, given it was made in ‘87, but this is not the case. It uses an 8-pin mini din connector that I have not seen before. Given the NEC blue ovals in this keyboard are quite clean and pleasant to type on, I was wondering what my options are for adapting it! Thank you, a picture of the connector should linked here

The NEC PC-98 is listed, so I would guess that it is that. Maybe the older PC-88 series used the same keyboard connector. The PC-8801 keyboard here has a similar-looking angled connector anyway.

Probably something like I'm doing in viewtopic.php?p=475532 would do the trick. Most of it is just time consuming, but I'm still not 100% on everything I'm doing, so YMMV
.
NEC blue ovals are nice switches.

I can’t see what ya linked there, but this would only be the second time I’ve made a converter. I have a teensy, but I have no clue how I’d adapt this thing without a guide. Hopefully I can figure it out!hellothere wrote: 08 Dec 2020, 22:08 Probably something like I'm doing in viewtopic.php?f=2&t=2492 would do the trick.
