I always heard that mx brown is just a pathetic excuse for a tactile switch, i have a razer orange board lying around in my house and they feel decent IMO, i haven't tried mx brown myself, but in terms of tactility are them really the same?

The Razer Orange has a bit more pronounced tactility than the MX Brown, but isn't too far away from it. I:C has force curves for the MX Brown and Orange, and going further towards the heavy end, the MX Clear for comparison.
The level of tactility you want is purely down to personal decision. Bear in mind that there's a lot of overlap between "people with very strong opinions about switches" and "people that frequently post about uncommon switches"! I personally prefer the light tactile force of the Browns over more aggressively bumpy switches (typing on them right now), and if you like your Orange board I think you'd be happy with the Browns as well. They're so common that you can probably find someone with a board to test them out yourself, too.
