My Rosewill RK9000 died, need new MK.

So I've been searching. the solder was poor, I tried to fix it, but I'm not good neoguh and my Uncle is a mechanical engineer who does it for a living but he says he doesn't have the tools at home to do it.
So, I need a new MK. While Newegg likes to offer the RK9000s cheap, and I enjoyed mine, they won't do shit for me. As it's a 1 Year warranty.
ANyways, been looking at new keyoards...don't want Newegg again, was hoping for good Black Friday sales, but so far they've been crap.
But I do have some thoughts on possible choices:
Top choice:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DKX ... PDKIKX0DER = Hoping for a sale of about 75$ or less.
Secondary choice:
http://www.tankguys.com/mechnical-keybo ... bs-69.html |||||||| never goes on sale
Third choice:
http://www.monoprice.com/Product/?c_id= ... largeimage
Cheap, cool features. Monoprice, I know they aren't known for their MKs, but it seems to be an QPAD MK80.
It looks the same as this
http://www.maxkeyboard.com/max-keyboard ... board.html
Only a lot cheaper. Though Max Keyboards is running a 50% off promotion, Monoprice is -still- cheaper. Sadly. There seems to be ALOt of these out there
http://www.overclock.net/t/1447188/maxk ... ds-bf-sale = Lasts til Monday. I see alot of QPAD keyboards out there.
I want Cooler Masters, and I WANT Red switches, and I WANT to spend under 100$, including shipping.

I'd just keep an eye out for holiday sales for that CM QFR. That's definitely the keyboard to get as far as boards <$100~ are concerned I think. I'm sure many places will be having sales on them before Christmas.

I just expected with Black Friday / Cyber Monday, we might see good deals...

For the Ducky or CM XT mechanicalkeyboards.com is having 10% off sale right now, should put them both close to your budget... shipping might put it back over. They do have others as well that you might also like.
If you're not going to fix your Rosewill, I am sure you should be able to get at least $30 out of it as a parts board. If it looks like an easy fix you probably get more.

Been there. That website is far more expensive than any other, even with the sale.

Hey, these are available for 50$. What thoughts do you have?

K60 is the older ones, that are part rubber domes and seem to often develop problems. I would stay away from those.

Yeah I saw they were part Rubber dome - but only on keys you rarely use, the ESC / F-12 keys and such.
Still, for 50$ I would've bit, but the 5$ shipping just pushed me over it by a dollar, literally, had 54$ in my bank. It would've been much better than the TOTALLY Rubber dome keyboard I am using now.

I learned it the hard way, have been frugal most of my life. it is a good virtue but it can be misleading.
instead of buy 5 things that you don't really enjoy, spend quality money and get one thing you really like and can last a long time. kenrockwell put it this way, he probably spent more money on ipads (since he has to upgrade when new ones come out) than on a very high quality headphone ($1500) which last him 10+ years, and the average cost is very low and he got to enjoy the really nice headphone.
a good quality mk can last a long time, so i suggest you get this instead

the thick dyesub pbt costs $100 if you get it after market, so the keyboard is only $36
if they have a TKL version i'll be all over it

Yeah, those look nice, but I don't want to pay almost 150$ for a Keyboard. I like Mechs, but that is just insane. I know about Ducky quality
http://www.tankguys.com/mechnical-keybo ... bs-69.html
If i was to buy Ducky, probably this when it goes on sale for 90$.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ducky-DK9008G2- ... 485b4ba91c
Seeing these for sale, but nto sure if they are Cherry MX red or not.

Considering the fact that lots of people on this forum buy $100 keycap sets, that's not very nice.
Plus, a $150 keyboard will easily last more than 5 times the length of 5 * $30 logitech rubber dome media keyboards, so it's an investment, really.
Or, assuming you're in the US due to the dollars, you could just get a Model M used from eBay. Much nicer than this Cherry junk!

Or you can always buy the Rapoo V7 or Zalmann KM500 that have fake Cherry MX Reds. Don't rely on the quality, though. In fact, actually, rely on them not being great quality. They're cheap, though.

It's $132, free shipping. $150 is insane for thick pbt dyesub? you might be hanging out in the wrong forum

$90 can barely buy a set of IMSTO keycaps, which is not better than the ducky thick dyesub.
Seriously though, I suggest that because you want a full size keyboard.
If those ducky are TKL, they will be all GONE by now.
You're in a very good situation since you want full size.
Just read the review
http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=45056.0
I'm telling you, waiting and getting the ABS version for $90 instead of buying this thick PBT one for $132 right now will be a big mistake.
anyway, if you want cheap, you should have gotten another rosewill for $40 at blackfriday
http://slickdeals.net/f/6489538-rosewil ... e-shipping
or if you like brown as well, bestbuy has kb + mouse combo for $70 right now
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/cm-storm-qu ... cp=1&lp=11
I'm sure there will be deals throughout the year, if you want to save the few bucks, just look out for new deals

Wow, way to be a total dick.
And I want Cherry MX reds. Those ran out by now, and I didn't know what Switch it was - the Ebay guy never replied. And those weren't TKL. They were full size. I would NEVER buy TKL, as it's a total rip off - you pay more for less!
And sorry, a CM Quickfire XT is of comparable quality to a 150$ Ducky @ 99$, based off of reviews at many websites. Ducky sells at such a high price due to branding and rarity(South Korea). I can't see how it is a mistake.
I find your entire post insulting. And the link I posted to you shows the same one you wanted for 132$ for 110$, that often goes for 90$ on sale. Ducky Shine 3's were available for 99$ as well on the sales this year, not a few bucks in savings, either.
You're right, I might be on the wrong forums. I thought these were full of mature users who knew about MK's and could be helpful, not uptight assholes who love the smell of their own farts due to how smug they are.

hmm... I think I should be the one that said "wow".
Anyway, I'm out of here, if you think you know exactly what you want and how to get it, why ask for advice or other people's opinions?
BTW, ducky is based in taiwan, not SKorea. You can search "ABS" on the two links that you provided, if you want to convince yourself that they are the same keyboard as the one I mentioned.
Out.

Thanks for being rude and incredibly unhelpful again. Then super popular in South Korea, I was just going off what I read on several websites about them being from South Korea. Oh well.
You STILL didn't answer my question about if those are Cherry MX reds or not, as the SKU / Model number doesn't match any.
