Hey everyone,
I've been using a keyboard with Gateron MX-style switches (specifically Gateron Browns) for a few months now, and while I love the smoothness compared to Cherry MX, I've started to notice a few quirks and issues cropping up.
Key Chatter – A couple of keys (especially the "E" and "R") are starting to double-register or miss strokes entirely. At first, I thought it was a software problem, but switching keyboards fixed it.
Wobble – The switches seem to have a bit more side-to-side wobble than I expected, especially compared to genuine Cherry or even Kailh Box switches.
Is key chatter common with Gateron switches over time?

Key Chatter is just a bad connection inside the switch. The simplest solution is to replace the switch. Cleaning it up may help too but I have never tried that.
I use Gateron Browns and Blues for about 10 years now. Two keyboards (my custom K84CS). One with Blue switches the other one with Browns. I use the keyboards daily and about 80% of that was the one with the Brown switches. I needed to replace about 4 Brown switches. I'm not sure whether I ever needed to replace any Blue switch; maybe one Blue switch replaced.
As for as wobble, I do not know. I used also Cherry MX Brown switches a lot (for about 12 years in my Kinesis Advantage) and Cherry MX Blue for a few months. I did not notice any significant difference as for as wobble goes. But I did not try to find such a difference as well. Anyway, at least two Cherry MX Brown switches in my Kinesis Advantage developed "chatter" as well in those 12 years. That was another reason I made a custom keyboard for me (aside from my general dissatisfaction with not perfect enough keyboard shape of Kinesis Advantage).
