For a while, at work I was using one of the newer MBPs as my main machine. Same deal for me as for OP -- I really did enjoy typing on it (which I wasn't expecting). To me, the keypresses felt rather crisp (though with very short travel).

A very interesting and helpful cautionary tale! I'm curious -- did you happen to snap any 'after' pictures of the PCB?

Also, I'll have to check out sound dampening mats... I have a plastic case coming in, and have been meaning to gather some materials for dampening/giving it a bit of weight once it ...

Wow, what a lovely find -- thanks for sharing. Are you considering cleaning up the caps and refurbishing the switches/using in a new board, to get a chance to use those keycaps on a working board and see how you like typing on them for an extended period of time?

Shame that it sounds like these ...

I personally use warm water and dishsoap, or warm water with a bit of baking soda and vinegar for cleaning. Would you say the denture tablets work better for you than those? Just curious.

Thanks for the replies. Yeah... if I ever follow through with a dome swap, I'd probably use a donor Topre board for 55g. I'll just add that to the back of my backlog :) I've already dropped on a Norbauer case for my NT, so that'll be its major upgrade for the year.

Best of luck on the KS, Matt3o! The WF is an excellent board with great build quality (very happy with mine). Awesome to see this offered with Halo switches.

Forgive my bumping an older thread, but has anyone tried either the 55g or 65g variety in a NovaTouch since the more recent posts in this thread? My main concern would be replacing the high-quality domes that come with the NT with these, which seem to have mixed reviews.

If there were an option for ...

Thanks for sharing the update on how the keys are progressing -- that industrial blue looks lovely. IMO it looks closer to the original than some of the pics I've seen in the past of Unicomp's offering. Glad I included some in my order.

@slyker: A NASA orange is supposed to be available in the next round, and I believe you will still have the custom colour option to have your keyboard painted whatever colour.

Perhaps I'm blind, but I could not find reference to the "NASA orange" case color on modelfkeyboards.com or this forum ...

Finally pulled the trigger on one of these after hearing about the project last year. I'm glad I was able to get in on the extras since I managed to miss both GB rounds. Really appreciate the time and care you clearly put into this.

This case + Hypersphere's rings will be amazing.

Really looking forward to this; I'll definitely be picking up a set. I didn't have this set on my radar for the longest time, then stumbled across it (at least some discussion about a potential SA run in the future), and that was the end of that. The colorway is pleasing to look at while not being ...

I have a NovaTouch (it's my main board at work), and after silencing it using Hypersphere's silencing ring mod , it's made a huge difference on the typing experience, namely by eliminating the upstroke rattle that Stabilized mentioned. It's one of my favorite boards now.

I've only typed on a ...

A board with support for both Alps and MX switches and the option for a split spacebar is really compelling. Definitely interested in how things come along for the RGB project, but I'm especially interested in the BT project.

For the RGB board, I take it that the Alps-compatible switches bundled ...

@Hypersphere: Regarding the slider rail lubing, I'm very curious to hear how that holds up for you in the long run.
