Hey guys,

i have a question. I am an owner of a Blue Alps keyboard but the sound is very poor, even my White Alps keyboard sound more like Blue Alps than this one.
My question is can i exchange the keycaps from an other Alps board with the Blue Alps Board?
Are the keycaps responsible for sound ...

Well it is worth to note that blue itself went through multiple changes as well so there are different versions of skcm blue.

I was referring to cleaning the switches, lubing them with the recommended methods and such. The general premise with precious Alps like Blues seems to be to do as little as necessary tho. If the feel and condition is good but the sound is off, don't open up the switches. Like people said ...

What do you understand under restoring, cleaning them up and such? Because the switches don't seem to be dirty it's just their sound is high pitched.

Matias makes a clone of the “simplified” Alps switch, though most (all) enthusiasts would say that the simplified Alps were far inferior to the “complicated” Alps of the SKCM/SKCL series, and the Matias switches are plasticy and a poor substitute for vintage Alps.

So yes, desolder or buy them ...

Doesn't the Dell AT101W have Black Alps?
I have a Dell AT102W and it has Black Alps, which are fine for gaming i must say. They are tactile.
But you can mod the Black Alps into linear Switches which are ideal for gaming.

So i got my Dell AT102W with Black Alps today.
I really like it and it would be my primary Keyboard if i wouldn't have a White Alps Keyboard.
But it's very nice so far.

So i've bought me a DELL AT102W with Black Alps
The FCC ID is GYUM90SK Made in Malaysia REV A01
I found out that these are Bamboo Black Alps.
Should i Linearize the Bamboo Black Alps since they are not as good as Pine Black Alps?
Would be there a big difference between Linearized Bamboos and ...

Now my question is, are the Black Alps without click leaf build similiar to the Green Alps? Or do the Green Alps differ significantly?

I have Cherry MX Black, Blue and Brown.
I like Black the best then close to that is Blue and after a while Browns.

I love my regular Tactile Matias Keyboard. If i wouldn't use a White Alps keyboard i would use my Matias.

Blue Alps for instance really are better than MX blue.

This forum's been alive for over 10 years, but people still haven't absorbed the fact that these things are subjective. Both switches can be great (or bad) depending on who's using them :ugeek:

in my experience Alps Keycaps are much harder to take off than Cherry Mx one.

What I've learned is, you can't go wrong with Alps, wether it's White, Blue, Green, Black. It all is good, right?
