These boards are designed by engineers, not designers. Font face isn't very important to them. Not that I am a font snob. As long as it isn't painful to look at and legible, I am cool with it. Then again, I prefer blank boards myself. Font and legend quirks? No problem

Ah you pointed it out. I wanted to see if it makes it to production stage again. Pure had a herp derp error too. You can tell your non-LED Pure is from the initial batch by the enter key. It says Ctrl + Alt + ESC.

HT82K94E is one time programmable device. You could try to get a replacement IC and program it youself, but you'd be on your own for the firmware.

I believe they're not codenames but an index. T = Tanglangjiao (Mantis Foot). O = Other, ABCD = sub-index. He only use the descriptive names when referring to switch types.

To me it's pretty clear that it's characterised solely on observation. Those with obvious branding (KPT, APC etc) are labelled as such, and the rest just have codenames.

I did poke some friends about Alps switches. All roads lead back to Alps.tw. It was suggested that I sit him down and pick his brain about it. That explains it. I played with the Tactile Pro and my first reaction is WANT NOW. Then sense took over. I don't really want another fullsized board (one with very plasticky shell at that).
Like I've said before, sorting out who makes what Alps makes my head spin.

Well, there are a ton of words that can be used as brown. 啡 is a semi new usage, coming from 咖啡色. 褐would probably be the more traditional usage.

青 is not pale. It can be used to describe both blue and green in color. Etymology wise, it is closer to green. MX blue is called 青 too. Calling the teal one blue is very odd. 藍=blue. I saw someone do something similar on a different keyboard, but they only cut the trace, and wired the switch as a double, not as a swap. You need to continue the signal path on both side of the matrix if you want to swap them. So that would probably need 8 wires total (to and from for row and ...

You can try electrical tape. They are pretty bright, and even worse on the low cut aluminum case. I don't use the modes myself though.
