Re: [FMF] - Free Model F - DT Workshop project & (real) Group buy
Does anyone here actually have one of those keyboards in their collection? The photos in that link are too small to be useful, and I'm definitly not paying $300 + shipping from Japan for one of those just to take some measurements :(
Hi DMA, I got one of this in my collection, even though no ...

Re: [FMF] - Free Model F - DT Workshop project & (real) Group buy
A very interesting discussion :)
truly an inspiring discussion. the suggestions proposed immediately reminded me of the Brother bucking springs, which have the same feeling as the IBM originals with a slightly more acute sound (pinging). for the rest they are modular and have a snap-fit system ...

Re: Saving an IBM M15 - need restoration advice
Drawing inspiration from your great daring - Snuci, I took courage for converting my ANSI IBM M15 to ISO, Italian layout. Yes! Now I'm writing this post with a f* 'fine' Italian IBM model M15.
Sorry for necro this post, but I thought that it would be more useful to publish here my m15 porno pics ...

Re: Space bar stab clip broken off Model M barrel plate
Hi modelf, what a shame that broken stabilizer. A quick solution, which don't involve the tearing apart of the whole assembly keyboard and the consequently stabilizer replacement, might be that suggested by me in this old post that call in a metallic washer.

Re: Back from Coventry, resurrecting Fs.
Hi and congrats for your haul. 5 are quite a bunch of model Fs. Lately I found quite interesting and profitable converting an F122 with a firmware (tinkerboy credit) qmk/vial enabled that means key mapping on the fly without the need of uploading a new firmware every time you need to change ...

Re: Cable replacement on Model M Industrial M-13
Thanks for the advice. I emailed Unicomp to confirm they have the right cable available but they haven't responded, so I might need to give them a call.
For replacing the internal connector, how did you splice the original one onto the cable? (I am not sure what method I would use to connect the ...

Re: Cable replacement on Model M Industrial M-13
Yes, follow w's advice. I myself replaced my black m13 frayed cable with the corresponding curly unicomp's one, flawlessly. Only side note is that you'll have to replace the cable plug from AMP to the original internal one but it's very easy since internal cable colouring scheme is the same, so the ...

Thank you! That makes sense and is very helpful. Would I need to just remove the keycap of the O key when I remove the switch to adjust the spring, or will I need to remove all of them?

Re: 5251 Beamspring key not activating
Assuming that I am by no means a beam spring key expert, the issue you described reminded me a similar problem I experienced on a key module present on my 3278. It seems related to a misalignment of the module key metal slats, as well described by Ellipse in this video clip , which with the service ...
