Re: Cherry MX Ergo Clear
Alps probably could bring it back, but the return on that investment, while likely positive, wouldn't be big enough for them to care. (datacomp still makes SKBM AFAIK, but getting them to make stuff for the enthusiast market instead of for corporate clients is likely a very tall order) As for an "it...

Re: 1x1 Hi-Tek High Profile
I haven't really done much in the way of cleaning for this thing, I think after I get switch collars and I can confirm that they fit I plan to clean and wax the sliders and try a thick grease on them. The spring can absolutely handle a thicker lube I think so it should be very nice. Will make a thre...

1x1 Hi-Tek High Profile
https://i.imgur.com/azsLZY4.jpg Removed from my Robot 800 while cleaning/fixing the keyboard. It's just waffle style Hi-Tek High Profile but a single one. This was next to the caps lock key just making that row 1 switch wider. I guess they figured it wasn't worth the effort to make a new frame for ...

Re: Comparison of all 4 aruz colours
As far as I know it is consistent. I only have the single standard blue Aruz switch though and have never had a board with them but on the other 2 blues they are consistent.

Re: all 4 aruz colours compared
Finally got a normal aruz switch and can compare all 4 known colours directly. https://i.imgur.com/cMmPPOd.jpg Family photo, from left to right we have a standard Aruz clicky, this particular one is branded Himake on the bottom. Then we have a clicky light blue aruz with no branding, a linear pale b...

It perfectly fits T-mount cherry M7, or you could remove and reuse the reed switch it already uses.guidemetothelight wrote: ↑26 Apr 2023, 21:27It actually looks a littble bit like cherry mx ( a bit tighter & with one of the 4 legs broken off)

What about it doesn't work? if it still powers on and whatnot it might just need some AA batteries. Regardless it's cosmetically better than any off the ones I've got, mine keep getting damaged in shipping

yeah, parting it from the machine, especially when yours is in such nice shape, is a huge shame. At least find someone who needs to repair theirs instead of trashing the thing

novelkey's clicky creams are a good alternative to clickiez but they're basically linear which might put some folks off. I'm loving them honestly though.

Re: Hyper 7 keyboard review (Kailh BOX Burnt Orange)
It's always weird to me when this stuff crops up in chyros's reviews. Like getting someone else to drill holes in his model M or not having a converter for the F bigfoot even though he did make a converter for Project N and both of those use soarers, it really does feel like he just doesn't know how...

you added the 2nd half between when I loaded the page and when I posted my comment but I still stand by it. If you want something simple you'll get something simple. Re: Hyper 7 keyboard review (Kailh BOX Burnt Orange)
As long as Atmel makes those 32u4 chips of theirs, Soarer's will still work. There's a time limit there for sure and I wouldn't count on that being there forever. QMK/VIAL on the other hand don't have that issue, they'll work on all sorts of things and can be updated as better/cheaper options come ...

WYSE boards are an excellent choice for switch swapping IMO. Folks tend to harvest just the switches from them so getting the leftovers should be easy enough if you ask around. Most people who harvest the blacks from WYSE boards don't care about the boards themselves

Sorry, but this is really ridiculous. I am asking about White Owls, Glazed Greens and so on, and you want to see pictures of my key caps, because you don’t believe they were damaged by BOX Whites. What has one got to do with the other? You're so close to understanding the issue with the caps here. ...

Re: Waxboil and wet lube is good and you should do it to everything
I don't want the wax in the pot to be honest ;) I bought a pot at the thrift store for a few bucks just for this. I was using an old pot a roommate left after moving out but the teflon started flaking and I ended up with pieces of that on switches which wasn't ideal. I need to get a strainer just f...
