Glossy this question should probably go in the "How much is my _____ worth thread?" instead of yet another thread being made. This does not need to be a new thread in the marketplace. You've returned here, please take notice to the protocol we hold here.

Are IBM Model M boards with detachable SDL to PS/2 rarer?
As per the title, are the IBM Model M boards with the detachable SDL to PS/2 cables, more collectible? I have been fortunate to have been offered two of these at a crazy cheap price of £30 each (NOT selling them!)
The boards:

Inside a "Buckling Spring" Key - Unicomp Model M
Just a quick silent movie in HD, showing (as well as I can) the inner workings of the buckling spring. Feel free to reference this if you so wish :-)
PS: Ripster has pointed out that the spring buckles in the opposite way than demonstrated here. I wasn't actually attempting to pitch for accuracy ...

Don't forget, if your argument is based partly on UK price, that these are made in the US. Unicomp don't sell them for £90, they sell them for about $80. It's the shipping, tax and import duty, plus any profit margin added by resellers, that puts them at their full UK price. Over here we pay about ...

You should be happy that you still can make a choice to whether choose cheap rubbish or expensive quality.

I have a Unicomp Classic and although I'm not partial to the finishing, it's not a deal breaker for me. If I were going to wax critical about anything, it would likely be about certain enthusiast sentiments I've read which portray Unicomp boards as clones of the Model M when they seem more akin to ...

Oh come on glossy, dont be a prick ;)

I forgot to mention the nice "pre-worn" look on my space bar, where the textured finish is shiny across the majority of the cap. Not nearly as noticeable, but it's still there. I am told this is PBT shrinkage, and caused by not injecting the plastic into the mould with enough force.

Unicomp key cap finishing is terrible
Unicomp key cap finishing seems terrible. I have a Model M here, brand new, and the keycaps don't seem to have been inspected as much as you would expect for a keyboard that costs NINENTY POUNDS (ridiculous btw, considering it's not even an original IBM Model M).
