Anyway, things not consistent with Cherry:
-LED shield and placement of the LEDs
-Alignment of Caps Lock Legend
-Backspace symbol
-The keys of the numpad all seem to have the same profile
-The shape of the case seems non-Cherry-esque to me

I give you the Kinesis Advantage: a whopping 4 deep dish homing keys for each hand. Thinking of it, it's more like one "non-homing" key for each half. Anyway, it works nicely.

Black MYs are only slightly less disturbing to type on than the white variant. Both are horrible.
However, if you insist I can send you a few black MY stems for repairing your board.

Owing to its high content of phenyl groups, ABS absorbs UV radiation with a wavelength of <300 nm very well (don't pin me down on the exact number). I think that UV radiation is a major contributor to ABS yellowing, quite possibly in combination with oxygen, flame retardants or other plastic ...

I tend to remember things I've written by hand (as in with a pen) better than things I've typed. Possibly because penning something down takes longer so I reflect more on what I'm actually writing.

Hard to tell.
I find the HHKB Pro2 and the RF all-45g to feel similarly although not quite the same. It's hard to describe the difference in words. I just switch between them from time to time. The HiPro has a different feeling to it; it also has its own sound, less of a plop and more of a rattle ...

I have a Cherry board with thick PBTs and Windows keys right under my desk. It's a G81-3000 LPNUS (production date J08). OK, only lasered legends of course, no fancy dyesubs (that's why it is under my desk).

About your questions:
I don't know too much about the differences between early and later IBMs but there surely are a few experts around here.
My guess: the difference in feel could be due to the springs aging ...

Zenna, Cherry uses a kind of date codes. In this case it's E51, i.e. 1992, week 51.

Only newer MY boards have a different stabilizing system, old ones are compatible.

Cherry switches are made for 1.5 mm thick mounting plates. ALPS and ALPS clones (e.g. Matias switches) use thinner mounting plates. IIRC 1.0 mm. Matias is currently experimenting with dual use mounting plates for Cherry and Matias switches ( geekhack thread ).

Slightly off-topic: I just looked up the Logitech g710+. Boy, for that amount of money you can get something *really* decent like a Filco!

The lack of a system-wide software keyboard in Dvorak layout prevents me from posting more from my iPad. Hoping for iOS8 to change that. Anyway, Dvorak or not, touch keyboards and mech keyboards are of course totally different things.

Are you sure that the rest of the keys is PBT and not polycarbonate? Because these are very different plastics. The Deck FAQ obviously mixes things up. If the housing and the keycaps are indeed of the same material then chances are very high that it is polycarbonate rather than PBT.
