[Interest Check] Alu Case for Poker etc

Somewhere in the depths of the Round 5 topic, I proposed this:

Specifically, in a 1456PH3BKBU (14" x 8.3", black top, blue sides), you could comfortably fit a Poker's keys on the angled plane, with a generous near inch and a half to spare on each side, and include a top function row / fancy cap display on the flat plane on top. And round it off with some panel indicators. Something like this arrangement could look great with Round 5 caps!

The case in question is from the Hammond 1456 Sloped Aluminum Console range.
They're two part cases in blue with beige or black tops. Walnut sides are also available with the beige in some sizes.
The best hope is probably the 15 degree selection, including 8.3" deep case consisting of a 6.3" slope and a 2.2" flat top.
These are in 6.5", 10", 14", 17" and 20" widths (walnut sides 10" and 14" only), allowing a variety of keypads and boards.
Here's pics of all three 15 degree cases in (I think) their tiniest form:

These are standard parts, orderable from many places! Prices seem to vary from US$35 to €50 or more.

Could there be enough interest for a quantity discount? 32.78 could be a good sign!

As for the indicators, I was thinking of the Honeywell AML series.
They come as switches or indicators, square or rectangular, with one, two or three different colours in one.
Based on a 3/4" cutout, they'll work size-wise with keycaps.
They're a bit on the pricey side, but not too bad if you keep to the one colour indicators!

The indicator body snaps in to the panel cutout and accepts a lens that covers the black bezel:

The single colour caps come in red, yellow, green, white, blue, amber and apparently black (not so good for illumination!)
Here are examples of the colours in some similar switch caps in the AML series.
Examples of pricing and indicator availability:

I believe these take T1 3/4 wedge base lamps, for which LED substitutes can be purchased:

Then there's the small matter of the cutouts, the teensy interface, and how to mount the keyboard in place.
For starters, Hammond do offer a modification service, so a small group buy of the enclosures could have the cutouts sorted by the manufacturer!

Are any of you really this interested?

Interesting, this could work nice for my planned Cherry M9 keyboard with Round 5a sphericals.

Gosh, they look like you could fit a beam spring board in there!

They are indeed a bit beamy…

15 degrees is 2-3x steeper than most keyboard's inclines, when used without feet. That's steeper than I could comfortably type on.

They certainly are tall cases - the front is about 1.5" tall, 3" at the back! The minimum inside height clearance is 1.225" or 31.12mm, so I reckon you'd probably be ok with beams, the tall Cherry M5/6/7, or indeed those AML indicators.

There is a 10 degree series too, the only thing is the depths are even less suited to keyboards.
Besides a fairly little 6.5" by 5.5", these come in 14", 17" and 20" widths, but the widest two only come as 11.3" deep!

The 14" by 8.3" would work for a Poker with added 24 f keys!
I've added some square AML41C indicators for good measure.

The monster 20" by 11.3" has room for a full 122, plus a couple more rows no problem.
It's a case that invites adding panel meters, t bar faders (cf. "Commence primary ignition"), gooseneck microphones...

I have proposed a case very similar to this in Matt3os group build thread a while back, I have multiple old keyboards with this style of case, and I absolutely love the idea of fitting a poker into one of these. What ever you come up with I support this 100%.
