I have a new pet (I think)

This guy or girl (don't know, haven't checked) has been visiting our back yard lately. I don't want to feed him/her because he/she might get used to it and stop eating anything else.
Anyone have experience with hedgehogs?

I saw one while walking home one night … I couldn't get near it as it ran away really fast.
Since this is next to a road used all day by lorries, natural selection must have bred a Super Hedgehog that runs away instead of curl up :)
Now if we could only breed one that's soft and cuddly …

We don't have hedgehogs here in Canada. We've got porcupines:
I followed one of these guys for half an hour one day, walking only a few feet behind him. They have very poor eyesight and I was walking very silently so he didn't know I was there.

We have a hedgehog in the yard most nights too. I'm no expert on their gender either, but we call her/him Hogarth…

I can tell you're not from Britain! The place has a bit of a bad name, over here.
