While browsing the web I came across the page of Tatjana von Varg. She builds technical beautiful instruments, although usage is probably quite limited. For example a enigma like machine (

April 1985? That explains the big old parallel sockets on the box, then.
I can so see a great demolition being triggered by a handle like that. The sphere shows it is indeed a joystick, but the handle screams: DETONATE!

My cryptograph is not an Enigma but is based on the same principle.
