Sterling work, as always, Phosphor. My SSK's already cleaned up (much easier a task for me, fortunately) but one of its plastic mounts for the high end of the barrel plate is snapped, so it's a bit wobbly when moved around. Any ideas? Epoxy?

Thanks!
Are you talking about the two little studs that go through the plate and into the upper case? If you still have the piece, then epoxy will work. If not, you could throw a little screw in there like this:

Sneaky! I'll take a look and try accordingly. Thanks.

(or even drill a hole through the case and stud and then screw it in from the bottom recess. I might have to try that...)

I can quite literally say "will work for keyboards!" - I worked for an e-cycler in order to save a number of cool old machines and keyboards, and still paid cash on top of that.
Luckily he's a really cool fella.

You should get a deal going with him, tell him to send you anything with ibm written on it, and you'll give him a percentage of the sale price

Do that, hate to see you waste valuable time for nothing. In this world now nothing is given away for free hence please try and make some money for yourself and your friend.
As usual I never tire of seeing you work your miracle on some of these abused keyboards. Good to see that these old wrecks get some tender loving care from an enthusiast that knows his craft

Yes, you do. Model M SSKs are the best all round keyboard I've ever come across. Mine gets a ton of use.

Looks like a keyboard I cleaned up on the weekend. Something resembling Lasagne strewn throughout the keyboard

. I couldn't figure out how it got in between the two piece caps!

Yummy!

Rather impressive it got in between the caps. Even the worst ones I have are
relatively clean in between there.

Quite the transformation. One thing I love about these cleanups is it shows just how much crap these keyboards can go through and still come out sparkling on the other end.

Agreed! Another thing that puts a big 'ol grin on my face is when they're caked with death and they still function.
Takes a lickin', keeps on clickin'.
