When I opened this thread first I stopped reading here
Either you like this design or you don't, simple as that...if you don't, how about posting one of your own designs for such a sound system?
That means you only want comments from people who like it. In other words: no critic.
It's not like everyone here is designing compact sound systems all day long

Reminds me of the old cliché:
"Oh yeah, well if you know so much about film making then where's your damn movie?"
I've not commented on this before because I don't even use desktop sound systems, so it's a bit like me providing input on those MRI scanner-looking hairdryers they have in salons. But whatever it is, I can see it looks a lot like my old G5 and first gen Mac Pro. The fact that both of those were free gifts should say a lot for the design. There's a new kid in town. Round, shiny alu black, and, well, probably more the size you're looking for:

Ehhh, I like it. I'm a sucker for all aluminum silverish metal colored bits that are not glaringly "iStyled" - something is offputting about that. My living room speakers are mostly aluminum (Athenas), my current computer speakers are aluminum (Celestion), my entire desk is aluminumish colored (even though it's powder coated steel), and even my bed is diy with aluminum piping. So yeah, from a design perspective I dig it. Unfortunately, I could never justify the cost of this, especially given that I use headphones 99.9% of the time..

I didn't know that kind of flat speakers existed
Total Noob question : Why 4 subwoofers ? only a couple isn't enough with these high-mid satellites ?

I admire your 3D construction skills and perseverance in making all these models. Being able to make and render models like that is a great skill to have, wish I had it. Maybe you can get this work rewarded a little bit by offering the models on Poser model sites or the like? Poser artists are alwys looking for interesting 3D accessoires.
As for the design of the sound system, I find it a bit too conservative and unspectacular for a "fantasy desktop sound system", but that's a matter of taste after all. If I had the skills, I would probably want to design something that is more different from what you see in stores today.
