The images are indeed broken. You need to put the direct url to the .jpg file inside the [img] tags. Flickr makes this difficult sometimes.

And they were worth it. I've never seen prettier ergo keyboards! Nicely done.

Thanks!

I've been having a lot of fun designing them

How do you find the symmetrical stagger approach, versus full on ergo designs? I'm less adventurous a maker than you and I'm thinking about what I can do inside a more traditionally sized rectangular frame.

I did not enjoy typing on the symmetric stagger board.

Great stuff, I really like how you got closer to your ideal by doing all those iterations, weighing what works and not etc.

Impressed! Great presentation, but great ideas too.

Wow, great stuff and a good read! Makes me want to design my own keyboard as well ;)

Me too! I'm a little sad I under-ordered on the 1.5x modifiers and the 2x blanks, but I'm making do.

Thanks! It works in software and I didn't know enough to know it wouldn't work for hardware. ;)

You can try split symmetrical stagger board with V style, hand remain straight

ماء, I have one of those ;) And it's based on a lot of the same research I started with.
Did you photoshop that image? There's something weird going on between the hand plates and the shadows.

i see you has one but not split, can you post here, if it split?
:lol:yes the shadows is compare original position A(V upsidedown) and V position, better i think

What about the lonely key which would be under the palm? When I'm not typing I like to "rest" my palm... Wouldn't that key trigger?

I think your layout is nearly perfect: I like it better than the ErgoDox, where I think that the thumb keys cluster are way too close (especially seen that the thumb is the fatest finger).

I just wonder about that lone key under the palm (?) and if it's really mandatory to have it :)

Nope. Even resting your palm, the inner edge of your hand is raised just a bit. I also rest my palms. And I never accidentally trigger the palm key. (It's a shift to a new layer with things like cursor control and 'less important' keys.)
