I'm going to build the first software tool for DeskThority called DT-keysounds.

The idea is to have a native app running on your computer that simulates the sounds for the keypresses for all my keyboards and those in the possession of Webwit. I'm currently running many keyboard sims over at mrinterface.com, but they only work while typing inside the browser. DT-keysounds will run in the background of your PC ( Mac and Linux will be served later ) and you can select which keyboard you want to simulate.

When this project and this process has proven to be successful, we will move over to our first DT hardware project : the DT-mouse. More info on this project when it's started :-)

For this endeavor I'm looking for participants : I already found a lead developer who is willing to participate , I'll be involved as the project lead and supplier of keyboards

This first tool will have two versions : 1 lite version that only simulates a IBM Model M and a paid version ( 5 euros ) which opens up the whole world of keyboard sounds. For every 5 euro's earned, 1 euro will go to DeskThority, the rest will be divided over the participants. The divider key will be set by me.

What do we need for this Kickoff?

- Software developers ( C# )
- Software testers
- Content deliverers ( Audio : Sounds for every keyboard )
- Content deliverers ( Graphics/Text for every keyboard : this can be derived from the DT-wiki )
- Website & Shop developers ( Drupal )

The tool will be hosted at deskthority.com

Please post your interest in this thread, I'll be organizing things from this end.

The process is called Crowdpreneuring since you ( coming from the crowd ) are invited to act as an entrepreneur.

So, enlist and enjoy the ride in your own car!

I have a pretty decent microphone and a good few IBM keyboards. Here are some samples:

Naturally, you want specific isolated sounds for your idea, like individual keystrokes and the space bar. No problem!

Nice idea, I'm a software developer but since my experience with C# is limited I'd go for testing or Linux development.

Seems interesting! I'm in much the same boat as Chrishas, not much C# experience but I'd be interested in helping out with the Linux version.
