Buying a HHKB in China?

I have a friend who is currently in China and will be travelling to Europe sometime in December.
I figured this would be a good opportunity to make her pack a HHKB and bring it here to avoid getting smacked by customs.

So my questions is this: what is a good (and "cheap" (as cheap as a HHKB gets)) Chinese website or retailer in Beijing to requisition one?

You should pay tax to your country. :evilgeek:

There is no hhkb seller in BJ.

It seems to be a widespread error that you don't have to pay customs when you import goods in your luggage instead of having them sent.

Depends on the rules for the country you are entering. In Norway you have to pay 25% taxes of the value of the item plus shipping costs if the value of the item exceed about 25€ when you get items shipped to you. If you are abroad for more than 24 hours you are allowed to bring back goods for until 740€ without having to pay taxes or custom fees. If you are abroad for less than 24 hours the limit is 370€.

So yeah, you have to pay, but the value limit is so much higher when you carry the goods yourself. Don't know if other countries have similar systems.

Obviously I'm not planning on declaring it, that would defeat the point. I doubt any customs officers would have a clue that a keyboard could be worth that much.

I have a friend telling me a lot of their stuff is fake ;-) looks pretty legit to me, though. Thanks for the link.

Taobao's just like eBay: it's a place for independent sellers to hawk their stuff. Some sellers are dodgy, others are fine. Caveat emptor.

Yeah! I figured as much from Google Translate. Although I'm less sure about what is meant by "Favorable rate: 99.85% baby count: 103" ;-)

Probably not! The seller has a lot of positive ratings and has sold a lot of keyboards, so I'm guessing it's ok :-)

How much the Chinese HHKB clone does cost? :)
Is it really 1800 yuan? Using the conversion rate I found I think it amounts to over 200 euros. Is it correct?
It doesn't seem to be a lot cheaper than japan exports, isn't it?
