Or can beat the'wpm'of a trained Court-room stenographer ??

Don't most stenotypists use syllables per minute instead of words per minute?

Here in Germany stenography is mostly done by hand afaik. Every day there are 16 stenographers in the German Bundestag (parliament), and they can write up to 500 syllables per minute.
