I do need a new camera. Still, this pcb does have some lint and dust on it.

Switches turned 90 degrees? I wonder why'd they do that. Maybe it makes PCB traces simpler? Does a look at the reverse side offer any clue?

I think they do, as they will carry the light amplifying it a little bit. I had a keyboard where every switch was at 90 and the traces were grouped in columns.
I wonder how many switches would have to be ordered for Cherry to make some new clear housings, maybe do the bottom half in clear too just for lulz.
