I got this board some months ago and didn't have time to post the pictures.

This is an old cherry board, with a strange (for nowadays' use) layout.
The connector is AT, the switches are cherry black, but worn out to this very nice feeling of "Vintage cherry blacks".
I love typing on this keyboard. The feeling is beetween black and red, no tactility of course.
It is plate mounted.
The keycaps are double shots.
With AT-> PS2 -> Bluecube -> USB connectors it works quite well, i still experience some "fixed keys" as if the key was still pressed (i sometimes have this on a blue cube connected ssk too).
Opening it is not so easy as the screws are in the plastic and quite fragile, and it seems to be more and more fragile as you unmount them.
You can see some pictures of the internals (keyboardpron

).
Nothing fancy to me but i know like these.
And what about everyday use ?
Well it's not so easy as :
- The layout is strange, and i switch keyboard on a three day basis so and i can't get fully in. Moreover the / is mising on the numpad and i use it quite often, so is the altgr (how can i get these [|{#@]}^~) on an azerty keyboard ?)
- I can't select text with shift and arrows (or shift control arrows). I don't know why but it doesn't work at all.
But i love the touch feeling and the look, and typing on a keyboard older than my trainee is priceless

.
Hope you like the pictures.
Higher resolution on demand

I'll post them on the wiki asap.

Doesn't that model look a little like the Amiga one
G80-0777? I like the look of that one.

I wish I would have won it! Yes, the Amiga 1000 is almost the same, a modified version based on same pcb and casebody.

KennyR (a belgium guy) sold it in october 2012 on deskthority.

Resistance was futile, that keyboard belongs to me. I was going to go very high on that one. But i think it's in good hands, no frankenboard, I won't take the keycaps.
But if i ever die my wife will throw it to the garbage, I fear
Note for myself : stick a post-it under with "Sell it on Deskthority !!!"

I would have franken it, but in reverse. Kept the board and put my green on light grey set on it

. It has the same shape enter, and short 1.5 backspace, 2.25 right shift and all... I love that set and have nothing to put them on... well thats a lie, I have my Commodore board, but it can't work on a PC.

I think the problem is the abomination that is link colours on this forum. One day I will kidnap webwit and beat him until he makes links in forum posts stand out. It's the [ wiki]…[ /wiki] ones that are really hard to make out.

Download the Stylish add-on to Chrome or Firefox and do something like this:
Code: Select all
.post .postbody a { color: #0080ff; }
.post .postbody a[href^="http://deskthority.net/wiki"] { color: #ff0080; }
Maybe not an optimal solution though.

That will only tell me when other people have posted invisible links. It won't tell them when I've posted an invisible link …
I've used Stylish for years — works around design flaws in other websites, such as ones that use the same colour for visited and unvisited links.

Yup, that's why it's "maybe not an optimal solution". Best thing would probably be to just beat webwit, I guess!

what would you like better ?
a dotted underline for active links, and gray if visited ?
