Univac Uniscope 100 - Licon (7585)

Something neat I picked up a few weeks ago. Actually I picked up two of them, both, look similar, but are made by two different companies! (well sorta).
My guess is that this keyboard was built around 1974 (according to the IC manufacturing dates).

The switches are magnetic pulse type (often mistaken for hall effect, but it also uses magnets, and is always NKRO, Hall Effect keyboard made by Honeywell may not be NKRO in some cases).
Linear switches, I've seen them used by HP on some early keyboards. I don't have direct proof but I believe that the switches were designed by ITW (Illinois Tool Works), which if you follow my research, also have the patents on the RAFI magnetic pulse switches, and a bunch used by Cortron.

The keycaps are indeed double shot (including the spacebar!).
Notice the divots on the home row, similar to a certain Cortron keyboard I have (also branded Univac).

Anyways, enough talking, time for pics

Looks like it would have been right at home in a film set far into the future of the year 2000.

Unusual cap shape.

What's the grey hex keypad at the back of your pics?

Ah.... so you were the one who got them away from me :). I was bidding on these too.

I got one later, but it was naked without the case.

I was trying for one of the earlier auctions, and someone snatched it. Decided to but a bit more pressure on this auction :D

I have internals pics of my other one, made by Cortron as well.

Yeah, I saw that earlier one as well.

Presumably you're aware of The Terminals Wiki and the Computer Graphics Museum?

Wow! That thing is beautiful! I have one like it, minus the number pad that i got back in 2011. I'm pretty new here, but yeah, great seeing pictures of this thing? Do yo have any technical information on them, or not really. I've never taken mine apart. Didn't wanna go in blind and damage something. I do have a few squeaky keys though. I suppose cleaning and possibly lubing up of some kind could be in order, someday.
