What's up with the [YouTube] tags on this forum?

Hey guys. So it seems a certain amount of pointless re-learning is needed in order to work out how to embed YouTube videos on this forum... so please, how does one go about this? It's hardly intuitive.
Thank you

Don't copy and paste the entire URL, only the code after the "v" parameter. Example below:
This is an URL to a page on Youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kb2fJQlSkCc&feature=BFa&list=PL042F06604F98B47F&lf=mh_lolz
This is what you write:
And this is what the result looks like:

it shouldn't be difficult to modify the plugin to parse it out but effort discourages spam

Might be useful if that was explained in the tag code itself. How stupid.
Thanks

Oooh, can I play?
It's an idiot filter. If you can work out the mouseover of the youtube button, you pass, else you fail.

Of course I can work out a video ID, but so what? It's not explained, and that's useless.
I could tell you that you have to walk down a street, and in one of the houses is a £10,000 cash, and there are 1,000 houses. If you didn't know
which house contained it, you'd be as ignorant as the next man, UNTIL you were told.
You don't know what you don't know.

First, a question that is totally unrelated to your question: Are you American?
Second, my experiment on whether it's possible to influence the video quality and starting time:

(would have been nice

If you know what you don't know you'd know everything.
Kinda boring : there would be no incentive to explore and be amazed.

It's a relief you're not in charge of product design at Apple
