Inb4 someone did this before.

What do you get when you mix TTCs with Aristotle sliders?

Image

Autism. Also, a clicky switch. I'm calling it a "creamsickle" because vanilla and orange sherbert soft serve is better than sex.

Not that I'd know.

Image

The sliders pop out of the top a little bit. I haven't noticed any ill effects. I guess that aside from being wider (which I guess is why they're more tactile than standard sliders), they may also be taller. I don't know. Egg.

Spoiler because looooooooooong.

Not spoiler because not long.

Best backlighting effect NA.

So here's the part where I give actual interesting information:

They feel good. I guess. I don't like click-jacket cherries quite frankly, but these are better than any others I've tried. Compared side to side with a bog standard blue clone, they're much more tactile and sound a lot better, with a deeper, louder click and no rattling.

So there you go, if you want to make an Aristotle hybrid but dislike well-made housings made by reputable companies, here you go.

But it's always covered by 'key-caps' (don't get it) :?

How do you even notice any colour of a Cherry Switch Design?

Maybe it's for SEE-through key-caps, now I understand this perverse addiction.

I used the term Creamsicle a while back to refer to a hybrid Alps Orange and Alps Cream Damped switch. So far, it's my favorite Alps switch.

I've wanted to do this except with blue Alps for a damped clicky switch to have a less annoying version of the best clicky switch

You thought I was gone, but I'm still here.

Also I did this:

Just imagine that without crummy lighting or blurriness and you're golden.

Have some more images:

This kit sucks. The thing doesn't really fit together right, and as you can see I didn't get the bottom-left modifiers into the right set of holes. Also, the caps I got are equally as cheap and many of them have large, visible defects.

So, cheap caps on sliders from old, cheap switches, inside housings from new, also cheap switches mounted in a cheap keyboard kit. After all that though, it still types better than MX blues.

I may do a more in-depth look later, since there are a couple interesting quirks about these TTC switches when the aristotle sliders are in them that I feel I should share. In the meantime, enjoy the meme keyboard.
