Wang 725-3770 PS2?

So I have acquired an older Wang model 3770 with some salmon alps, and from what I have read on the wiki is that this is normally a 6P6C keyboard(I have no idea what that is really). Well from the board that I have it seems that isnt always the case, as mine came with a ps2 cable that is RJ11(?)to ps2. When I plugged it into my computer it seemed to work at first, but then i noticed that just the leds came on and then nothing else happened. No keys are being registered or anything. Did I get the wrong cable? Do I need a converter? Am I an idiot? Is there something that I am missing overall? Any help on this would be appreciated. Thanks!

Yeah I tried it booting up with it in there and with nothing else plugged in as well, both times got nothing different except that only the num lock worked and nothing else

It is better to skip the 6P6C contact, as many people have reported that it does not work, I tried two cables with different pinouts but no usable results. Just wire it up to a PS/2 breakout board or a PS2 cable, as described here - > http://www.utensilia.tk/wang_724-725-3771/
