Not only is the typing feel completely underwhelming, the keyboard somehow fails to sense certain keys reliably.

wat

I've found these to be very reliable so far Oo .

Have you cleaned the sensing assembly at all? What's the foam like?

Ive had one of these, absolutely terrible. Glad I paid ~50 cents for it at a goodwill outlet. I tried typing on it for a bit and just threw it away. This was before I was really on forums, but I still knew it was shit, especially compared to the MX blacks and Monterey blues I had in keyboards back then. Im sure it was part of the reason I got heavy into mechanical keyboards, so I can thank it for that I guess.

As the case always is with FF the foam ist the weak link. And /or the PCB may be dirty. As for the feel, BTC spring over slider never feels "as good" as dome of slider, but that's just my preference. Open the case and have a look at the foam and the PCB.
