Is it possible to smoothen cream Alps without desoldering them?

Hello,

recently, I built two keyboards. One of them is a 60% keyboard with Cherry MX red switches. The other is a redesigned AEKII. The "problem" is, that the AEKII looks much more beautiful in my eyes and should stay on my desk. Unfortunately the cream Alps switches feel horrible and I love the smooth Cherry reds. As you know, it is hard "work" to hand-wire keyboards and I don't want to desolder and replace the switches with linear Alps. Are there possibilities to smoothen the AEKII switches while they are soldered? Would a removal of the second clip improve the feeling? Or is it advisable to lubricate the sliders? Now, everything feels very sticky and hard to push. Thank you for your advice.

Regards,
Martin

You can certainly linearise the Cream Damped switches by removing their tactile leaves. Check out Chyros' video on linearising a Dell AT101W, the process is the same:
