Leading Edge DC-2014 and DC-3014: Removing and Replacing Flip-out Feet

Does anyone have tips on removing and replacing the flip-out feet on the Leading Edge DC-2014 or DC-3014 keyboards?
They have metal retaining rings that snap into grooves on the hinge pins. Is there a handy trick to removing and then replacing these retaining rings?
Thanks!
UPDATE:
Problem solved. The retainer rings are semi-circular and have two little cut-outs in the metal with enough room for a 3/32" "computer" screwdriver so that the rings can be pried up and snapped loose. They can be replaced by holding them with small needle-nose pliers and pressing down firmly when the ring is positioned over the groove in the hinge pin.
