Very nice review, as usual!
I had myself all but lost hope in Cherry MX-switches until I got my hands on some vintage MX blacks. They are really rather nice switches. I like them even better after a spring swap to lighter springs (my fingers aren't manly enough for the stock springs) and a dash of lube on the sliders.
Much like emdude, I'd very much appreciate a linear switch comparison. (And perhaps a tactile and a clicky one while you're at it

Thanks for doing a review of vintage MX blacks. I've been curious about your opinion of them for a while.
After using MX blues (I now loathe this switch) and MX clears, vintage MX blacks have become the only Cherry switch I use.
I have two keyboards with them: a QFR with switches from a 1989 Wyse board and a Phantom / TEX build with switches from a 1986 Wyse board. I haven't lubed, stickered or modified them in any way and they're silky smooth on both boards.
This Phantom / TEX / vintage MX black keyboard of mine is very likely to be my "endgame" board. I have Leopold thick PBT keycaps on it, and it's an absolute joy on which to type.

Love the review, especially to it being referred to as some Muthaf*cker Construction.
Prized, even the Mrs was surprised to hear that, but I loved it. Best to keep it real and normal instead of doing up-there reviews for the Elites.
