I myself always find it a lot nicer to converse in real names instead of aliases. Probably why I sign everything with Thomas or Tom xD .

Meanwhile, I should probably just use my username in real life. My birth name is confusing, thanks to my parents failing in due diligence.

Seriously? Because it's OK either way unless it really bothers you. There have been serveral instances of users changing their username.
