How do you guys combat Carpal Tunnel if you have it?

I have carpal tunnel in both of my hands. I am just curious what tips and tricks you guys have come up with combat it or make the symptoms less noticeable. I have been doing exercises and stuff like that to keep limber but I still get some numbness after a while. I use the braces before I go to bed at night and sleep with them. I'd rather not get the surgery to fix it as I am not keen to being out for a couple weeks cause of family obligations I have.
