So, this is a bit of an odd beast. When I got it, I had no idea what to expect (my favourite kind of keyboard).
LEDs were in an odd spot, Made in Japan, just what could it be?

Ok, so by this point, I'm getting a bit worried. No through-hole pins means one of two things:
  • Domes
  • Capsense

And? Some springs!

And domes...

With graphite pads, bah! The worst kind. Oh well.

At least the keycaps are purdy.

Not quite Topre compatible though (comparison, Hi-Pro on the right).

Do you wait for webwit to create the "Please suggest nominations for the Best Relic of 20XX" thread before posting your finds every year?!

:P

Not quite. But after taking over the DT front page a couple years ago for lulz during a DTA, it's sorta become a tradition at this point, lol.

I was actually really worried this year I wouldn't be able to do it because I'm in NZ this month, many miles away from my keyboards

However, I really do make sure to post my most important finds well in advance of the DTA. Usually because I can't contain my excitement. This year for example: http://deskthority.net/photos-f62/the-o ... 11362.html

Always pretty gorgeous stuff brought by the master H !
Man someday you've got to propose some exposition of your entire collection, this would be epic !

I know, I know, I'm (mostly) just teasing. :D

This board in particular really caught my eye though. I've seen some vaguely similar things around auction sites in Europe, but I never picked one up.

As for the keycaps, I can see that the grey keys seem to be double-shot. The white key beside it, though, doesn't show any black plastic on the underside. What's the story behind those, I wonder?

Which key? The LED window key? Or do you mean the shift key?
The shift key seems to have used the same/similar mold as the LED window key.
