Fast boats and slow boats

I've noticed that my buying experiences so far have been of two extremes when it comes to shipping/delivery. Very fast boats and very slow boats. For instance:

Fast Boats
2 Filco Majestouch-2 Ninjas, fulfilled by Amazon. Fast boat from Japan.
WASD V2 with custom keycaps. Fast boat from Fremont, CA.
Pok3r, fulfilled by Amazon, arrived by teleporter as far as I can tell.
Topre RealForce 104UK Hi-Pro, purchased via eBay. Fast boat from S. Korea.
Dolch DSA keycap sets from Signature Plastics webstore. Fast boat from northern WA.
Granite DSA keycap kits from various DT members. Moderately fast boats from various locations in the US.

Slow Boats
Filco Majestouch-2 Ninja, fulfilled by Amazon. Excruciatingly slow boat from Japan.
Noppoo EC108, purchased via Aliexpress. Slow boat from China.
Varmilo VA108, purchased via MassDrop. Not really stuck on a boat, just stuck in the MD "fulfillment pipeline".
Granite DSA icon mods, trade with DT member. Slow boat from France.
...and someday next year, a big box of Round 5a caps will take a ride on a slow boat from Germany.
