Advice sought for creating a keycap set for a GB

So let's say I have an idea for a keycap set (based on a vintage terminal) and I put up an Interest Check thread here. There are two scenarios that concern me:
  • The idea becomes the victim of indifference and it dies on the vine.
  • The idea becomes the victim of substantial interest and is faced with kit bloat of 7bit-ian proportions.
I suppose one strategy for maximizing potential interest is posting the Interest Check at geekhack as well, but I'm a DT kinda guy and don't exactly feel at home there. Is there anything I should do here on DT apart from the Interest Check to help it obtain proper exposure?

As for kit bloat, what advice would folks here give regarding keeping the number of kits to a manageable level? I'm probably better than 7bit at saying "no", but not by much.

Lastly, I only want to do the set design; I don't want to run the GB (though maybe SP could take care of that on PMK, I dunno). Do a lot of proposals sputter out for lack of someone to take charge of the GB logistics?

PMK's expressly for this. But you're right: GBs can wither there too.

Here's a thread worth looking at:

Facet had trouble with Honey Sphericals Extras, which only barely hit MOQ on most colours, even with his own excess orders.

PMK eventually introduced their own interest check system after several (derivative and gaudy) GBs failed completely. Can't say I've ever voted on one. The last time I paid PMK any attention was Granite or Extras, back in the early days.
