New economic food chain and future of economic growth (somewhat oversimplified): Europe has eaten Africa in the past, now it gets eaten by the US (TTIP), which in turn gets eaten by Asia (TPA), which gets eaten by China, which gets eaten by supranational corporations, which then starve to death because no one can afford their products any more and there nothing left for them to feed on => Mad Max world. It might take a while though. Or never occur.

For Americans, it is more than that. Internet freedoms, privacy, and public health are threatened by this partnership deal.

I would not get too excited about it. The USDA will prevent sub-standard food imports. Jobs fluctuate all the time. I remember when NAFTA was passed, and everyone wailed about jobs. The jobs have been going overseas for years, and will continue to do so until we greatly reform US tax policies for large corporations. UK residents bemoan the 17% VAT, but for large US corporations, they can get charged as much as 37%, so they are sending jobs to the UK. Wal-Mart and Target recently implemented selling US goods over foreign goods, especially in linens and clothing. Yes, you can still find foreign cheap clothes there, but I just got back from Wal-Mart, and almost everything in the men's section was made in the USA.

20% VAT. And that's far from the only tax over here. Britain is many things, but don't mistake it for a low tax foreign competitor. We're mad for tax! Plus our productivity is way less than yours, and falling. Yay us!
