This is good. Stuff like that needs a certain exclusivity and remain limited in numbers IMO, otherwise it's just like any other mass product.

I'll take your word for it sixty. At least your wooden wrist wrest looks cool. Much better looking than the foamy ones.

I keep mine elevated all the time and rest on my forearm instead :)

Nice, where did you get this one? I'm looking for something like this for my hhkb but I can't find anything other than a 70$ leather thingy on EK...

Sixty, would you mind taking some measurements of the Indonesian Ebony rest that you have? My father in-law is a looking for a new project and this might be a fun weekend.

Looks like the majority of users here use wrist rests. I've yet to find one comfortable enough for me to use for several hours. Maybe I've just become too accustomed to having no wrist rest...

I definitely need a wrist rest. Was considering buying the leather wrist rest in the EK website but $70 is too much for me.

No wrist rest here.
I'm not touch-typing, and I actually don't type *that* much, so I don't feel like I need one.

My hand either hover above the keyboard, or just stay on the table.
Or a mix of both.

I simply fold up towel with the right thickness and width. Works like a charm so far. :D

Yep, you can get a decent keyboard for the same price as the wrist rest.

Yeah never really used a wrist rest. May have to give it a shot. Still getting used to the size of my tenkeyless though.

i'm doing mine from a salvaged wood from a gate.

Recycled exotic wood, beautiful and helps these indonesian forests from being burnt/cut etc
 :D

Sandpaper from 30 to 300, with a smooth finish , some linen oil, and voilĂ  and it costs me quite nothing (except the sand paper).

i think i'll post some picts asap

And the wood is not so hard for your wrists.

That came out really nice! You should cut it to HHKB size though!

Speaking of size, here is the measurement of my tenkeyless wood wrist rest, as requested:
35.6x9.0x1.2~1.8cm

wow those wooden ones look fantastic. they look uncomfortable, even though I know that theyre no harder than the desk that I rest my wrists on =)

the size goes for three keyboards realforce 105 , hhkb and g80-1800, one fit for all ;-)

@wanabe

I thought at the beginning that it was too hard, but not at all, the polish is smooth and my hands are still moving.

Maybe i'll do a mass order ...
;-)

http://woodworkman.com/bbs/board.php?bo ... t2&wr_id=3

i heard it take over 80,000 won each set, last year.

it's not so expensive, but there is the transport and the customs...
It's a very beutiful piece of work and of wood .

About the size, i've got big hands so they are too big for the keyboard. So a perfectly lined up wrist rest is too small for me.

i am currently just using a filco wrist rest. i find it really hard to type for a long period of time without having it.
i would love to get my hands on one of those wrist rest sets from WOODWORK, but i am afraid the shipping's going to set me back a bit

The HHKB setup looks fantastic, but how practical is it? I don't like my keyboard and monitor raised like that.
