I think that was mentioned earlier, that the new software didn't have that out of the box but they were looking at options? That's paraphrazing what I can recall, I'm sure you can find the original post with a search.

ok quick update folks: we have two levels of issues we're working with right now. first, everytime we go up, we get hit by a large botnet (plus you folks). second, there may potentially be some bad hardware in the mix again. we have responsiveness issues even with everything down.

Would something like cloudflare be any good. Them protected lulzsec website with great success. They offer free services too.
https://www.cloudflare.com/plans
They offer Always Online (TM). We could have some of that. (Don't think it'll really work for a forum, but you never know)

Wheeeeeeeeeee. I was able to get on long enough to set my password and change that awful orange to simple minds before timing out constantly.

Dreamhack
DeskHack, or the part of Deskthority that contains the GeekHack refugee camp and surrogate forum.

Now I keep getting connection errors. There are a couple things that I don't like about the forum so far.
1. They got rid of the pictures and modifications forums as far as I can tell.
2. In the Classifieds they also removed the wanted and FS tags so you don't know where people are selling or buying when you click on a topic.

we didn't do this on purpose. the pictures and modifications forum are hidden while we figure out what to do with the posts (all the attachments were deleted when we were brought down, and the modifications forum used a wiki format that was difficult to convert). the classifieds forum needs some work to bring back to its previous state. we will be bringing features back online as we can. at the moment though, we're focusing on stability and speed.

Still good work mkawa, it's great having GH back now.
For the tossers complaining about the Orange and what not, break out a pair of Oakley's and enjoy.
