What happens if there is an odd number of participants?

I will volunteer to be out, if that happens. I was thinking about that too

As long as you don't map people 1to1, there is no need for an even number of participants.

It looks morning coffee still hasn't kicked in

. There can obviously be cycles of more than two people.

I had also assumed it would be 1 to 1 but mixing it up means you don't know who the Secret Santa was. I'm back in!

Sign up is closed! You had your chance! If you're desperate to get in send me a PM, and beg.
I'll work on the pairings this weekend.
This is important:
1. If I send you an e-mail, PM, or similar, I expect a response within 48 hours (ideally ASAP). Something as simple as "got it!" is enough. If I don't hear back I may remove you from the rotation.
2. An extension of 1: please send me a tracking number for the package as soon as you have one. All packages must be shipped tracked! I recommend shipping insured as well.
3. To remain in good standing you must post a photo of your received item to this thread on or after Festivus, December 23rd. If you don't, we'll flame you. If you are unable, please let me know!
I myself am in the rotation and will assign myself a Secret Santa recipient and sender somewhat randomly (e.g. constrained by my shipping preferences, possibly enabling me to connect the US-based and the EU-based participants).
If a club officer or someone in good standing wants to audit the Secret Santa process send me a PM and we can work something out. I only really have the bandwidth for one auditor. I'm being transparent about everything except sensitive data such as names, addresses, and pairings.
This is going to be great! Looking forward to this materializing.

chuckdee has volunteered to be an auditor. Thanks chuckdee!
I don't think the auditor should need do anything here. However, if someone thinks I'm not running this Secret Santa fairly, or that I'm not being responsive or whatever, feel free to PM chuckdee who can then bug me.
I'm hoping to work out the pairings this weekend.

Okay, all 23 participants have been pinged! Since it is a weekend I'm giving everyone 72 hours to respond. Everyone who is sending something, should start packing it and getting it ready to go, expecting to ship it within the next two weeks. Let's get this started!

But… but… but… packing already without knowing pairing members?

Seconding this. I suspect I will have different gifts depending on who I'm sending it to. It might depend on, say, whether it's a Cherry lover or an Alps fiend
