Order #0138 arrived yesterday. Strange that there were keycaps in three colours. I thought there was only one colour when I ordered that kit. No bother, though, as I'm not that fussed about the right colours.

Order #0367 just arrived, these caps are mint!
Makes these MX browns sound so much more kaclunk kaclunk, love it.

Only issues is you gave me a HONEY/VERTBSL/R1 instead of a HONEY/VERTBSL/R4. It's not a huge deal, the HONEY GTLT/GREY is currently occupying the space.
But if you have the time, please send one my way. I still have some dough left in my account if you require it.

Also heads up for people with Filco Majestouch 2; (Ninja, though I assume there's no difference with the regular model, maybe other Filcos too?)
The stepped mods (HONEY/MODS175S in this case) do not fit under the TAB key because the cap's stem is offset, or the keyboard switch is offset depending on how you look at it. I presume Round 5a will be the same way, so order accordingly.

PS. Thanks 7bit for running, and continuing to run, this group buy. The caps were packaged with good old-fashioned Deutsche gründlichkeit.

I'm not sure I have them. I think these function row keys where all row 3 back in Round 4.


If you want one, you need to wait until Round 7, when we will have RA-red keys again.

RA row 1 Escape is not that important. Just low hanging fruit. It's a nice bright change, even next to Round 5 RAS.

Just checked: ESCAPE and kbdrunner are the only red keys (both row 3).

If anyone ordered row 3 RA Escape, they can trade with me and whoever else is upgrading their Round 4 SPH. Row 3 function row is an error to be REPAIRed, not replicated.

So I went to the post office to fetch those keycaps this morning. Feels great to walk back from there with all the good stuff my keyboard (Filco Majestouch 2 with MX-browns) has been waiting for. I spent a little while swapping keycaps with my son today, but there are two things I did not foresee:

- the stabilisers are loose and won't stay in place. Though they were perfect with the stock keys, it seems they're now just a little too slimto stay in their holes. That's especially annoying with the space bar, or the backspace key. Do I have to buy new stabilizers? Does anyone know where I could find some?

- My O-rings are now basically useless. Is it possible to somehow dampen those keys?

Let me guess: You have Filco stabilisers, not Cherry?


Solution:
Tear apart one of thse plastic bags that came for free with your key caps and use those little pieces to make the stbiliser inserts fit into the key-mounts.

Put a rubber-mat under your keyboard, but the clicky-clacky sound when bottoming out is 50% of the fun of mechanical keyboards, especially with thick key caps on.

Is that 7bit's German sense of humor throwing me off, or is he serious? Last week he said adding new stuff wouldn't impose any delays...

I mean, I love how accomodating 7bit is, but let's get this show on the road, shall we? As much as my imagination dances with ideas on how to fill a FUNCTION2 kit, I would gladly sacrifice the notion in order to kick this thing into production.

In my case that would be a combination of all those years typing on an old Olivetti ANK, and having to code at night with my SO sleeping in the same room.
