Darn it... I never got any nixies before. People say they are as smooth as it gets right?

Some people say Gaterons are smooth Cherries... Not true. Nixies are smooth Cherries.

Having tried a single Nixdorf switch I got from HzFaq a while back (thanks, btw!), I can safely say that Nixies are like smooth MX Blacks, and a tad lighter. Pretty good switch, but ever so slightly rougher than Gateron Blacks.
BUT they feel so much more like Cherry MX. And sound like them, too. They are refined MX Blacks. Gaterons feel and sound a bit different, which I did not like.

Not so safely shreebles! I disagree. From my experience Gaterons are extremely smooth but I still think Nixdorfs are a tad smoother. I'm sure there is some variation in the smoothness of Nixdorfs, but the ones I've owned have definitely been the smoothest switches I've ever tried.

Well, there you go. As I said I only had a single switch to try. Maybe that one was a bit old and dusty?

That said, IMHO smoother does not automatically equal better. Gaterons, to me, seemed smooth to the point that they were lacking control. I bottomed out all the time because my fingers did not know how far they had pressed the key.

Then he either has different keyboards or something is wrong, that Nixdorf was never produced as a rubberdome. Here's the PCB, I shot these this afternoon when I was cleaning it.

Although I do not know how many more Nixdorf's that seller has he's jacked up his prices as scott will tell you, so it's no win for us. I'll contact him and ask if he's up for a deal, or if he even has more.
