My dad has been meaning to buy a container like that for our property up north. How much to these things go for roughly?

It varies wildly and I'd say I got a good deal. It was about 2700 USD with tax and delivery for this tall 40-foot container. It is cargo rated - most aren't at this price. It is well used, manufactured in 2005. I have no idea what it was used for in its past life - I hope it wasn't too toxic.
I sort of did this:

Being close to a major port helps. Houston is three hours away, so there are plenty of containers around here.

Nice - thanks for the info XMIT. My dad and I discussed using 2-3 of these to build the foundations of a big garage after seeing an innovative company at a trade show that had designed different models - It was similar to this:XMIT wrote:It varies wildly and I'd say I got a good deal. We're in Toronto which is also a very large hub and port - there appear to be lots of local ads for these, like this one: http://www.kijiji.ca/v-buy-sell-other/h ... nnelId=101 - $2500 CAD for a 40' container doesn't seem too bad.

Is that IBM blue I see there sitting in your yard? I've been looking at getting couple myself but I live a little to far from the land I want to put them on right now.

I almost put this one back on the shelf, but then I checked its label and saw it was made in Sweden, and also remembered how much the Contour Rollermouse devices are worth/how well-liked they are...so I figured I'd pick this up and give it a try. The whole track pad moves up and down and side to side like it's on a conveyor belt and its entire surface can be clicked on. Gonna clean it up and start using it! Even if I don't end up using the mouse features, it's still a pretty comfy wrist rest.

Thanks, regular German seebart. I've been after this board for a LONG time, at least a few years. I can't thank Wodan enough, he sorted me out with this board after he got one in much better condition.
I got a big haul from Wodan. I call it the WoBox. Some highlights:
G80-1000 carcass for harvesting some nice old vintage MX blacks:

A cheap GH60 kit for testing out MX silent reds:

FAME board with Tai-Hao Aruz (bought as a keycap donor as the switches themselves were meant to be awful, but they're actually not too bad):

A nice TX Keyboards cover.

Bonus photo: look how dirty the MX5000 is!

More pics here, will start a thread later.

WODAN! You sold a FAME board with Aruz switches without telling me? And to be a keycap donor no less!? For shame. Hehe jk, but I would like to try those switches out one day. Nice grabs other Scott

Nah, he proxied it for me.
I am mostly interested in the keycaps, but they are just so nice! I can't help myself. If I do part the board out, I'll keep you in mind for the innards!
Just finished the MX5000 resoration, teardown thread incoming...

Do you know what key switches those keyboards use?
I am mainly getting these keyboards to use as a daily driver, the beamspring I got same thing I am going to put it to good use when typing screenplays.

It was a joke because even with your "budget" you won't be able to get those.
Good luck with your Beamspring conversion.

I would really have to try it in person. I am impressed by the build quality.
No wonder those IBM models go fast, they might have the hall effect switch in them!!!
