The only one with croatian legends, I think.

Of course it's super rare, but that price is crazy. That's more than I paid for all of my keyboards combined.

That is insane! For some , and lets face it , average looking caps on a crap keyboard.
Just think how many replica 4704s you could buy, hell you could get a real 62key 4704 for that!

Neah.. I don't even like it. For me that board is not more than 40$ worth. For example I would pay more for a Dolch, it's a matter of taste. I would never pay a huge amount of money for something I don't like just because it's rare. I don't see keyboards as an investment, for me is something that I enjoy and use with great pleasure.

I'm curious how much does the real 62 key 4704 cost one?. I see one on sale on GH for 450$ IIRC

That's pretty much the current market value, still a little rich for my blood

I wouldn't pay more than 100$ for one, not that keen on getting one, it's a classic 60% but still it's just a keyboard.

I actually do like the the Triumph Adler, but I'd not pay more than $50 or so myself.

I tried finding out from Alps what switches are in that glidepoint trackpad but they didn't know, their catalog didn't go back that far. Do you know what switches might in it?

I don't know, I'm guessing mechanical based on keycaps but it's hard to tell. At $12 I'd take a gamble, but not at $20.

I think I remember one being sold on the forums not that long ago, I think white alps where mentioned but I could totally be misremembering. I'll go digging for links later on this evening.
edit - couple of (real old) links from GH seem to suggest creams

I'm grateful that yesterday I was able to buy an IBM Model F PC-XT in the U.K for £49.99 fully inclusive. My wife saw the keyboard expense, but said nowt, bless her. The price of my CDs on the other hand, she did not approve!
There's recently been massive price inflation due to speculative vendors seeking to make silk purses out of pigs ears!

Inflation in all keyboards or just Model F? When I was searching in Britain for an AT a couple of years ago, they were few and far between, and all over a hundred quid. Then Cindy came along and BEHOLD! she sold me one for $25. Beautiful keyboard. Especially ANSI modded.

Inflation in Model Fs? I gotta get one now, I guess

Hi µ,
I'll rephrase: It seems to me that there are more instances of inflated prices, generally. I have no statistically valid, corroborated evidence to offer.
IBM Model M seem to suffer inflation more than most, unless they're weird terminal 122-key behemoths. Model F seems to be inflating too. Now that Bigfoots can be converted to USB they seem to have gained a premium.
Then there's that trans-Atlantic postage thing, and customs, that amplify the cost even more.
Maybe I'm paranoid, impatient and tight-fisted too... I'll stop ranting.
