Some say that certain variants of the MCK-101 (and the variants VARY quite a bit between suffixes) have double shot PBT caps. Can anyone verify this with an acetone test?
I find it a little hard to believe, but I WANT to be proven wrong in this case.
I would say that based on how yellow the case is and how white the caps are, that these are definitely PBT.

Dang. Well, please enlighten us when you receive your board, chzel. I am tempted to outright buy it, but if you set sights on it first, then I will respect that!
I wonder if it has double shot primary legends and dyesubbed secondary legends, or if those are pad printed... or even double shot themselves!
EDIT: But if it doesn't go through... *ahem*

Let me know.

Btw for anyone wondering; it's not that the case is intrinsically coloured instead of having yellowed; the back is lighter, and the plastic that was underneath the sticker is lighter yet. Definitely suggests PBT caps. But are they doubleshot? That's the question! Do let us know

Sold by Goodwill no less!
This was a fantastic donation, wonder if the person who donated it knew its worth?

Probably not. It is fairly rare that people, especially older people, know these things.

I would say precisely older people will know exactly what these things are worth.
They are the ones who bought them new, after all.

Yes, they bought them new, but pc peripherals loose value very fast and connected to the fact that most people are lazy and do not really want to do research first or they do not have knowledge on how to do it, they get donated or thrown out. This is how I paid 5 eur for 2 wyse ISO keyboards and 10 for the Olivetti.
I am not saying that this is always the case and in the later months people have clearly started researching before they sell stuff.
Now, because there are older people, members on DT included, that have kept a sense of value for older technology and have fought to save the knowledge, the rest of us under 30 have been able to learn.
P.S.: I hope I haven't offended anyone (again)

I don’t mean the usual peripherals which more or less look all the same (like Wyse or Olivetti keyboards

),
but things which were already unusual and expensive when they were first released and still are unusual.
A Datahand clearly belongs to these.

Stupid bidding by an amateur:

And as usual probably a completely new bidder will appear in the last few seconds, snipe and outbid them all

The amount of money people are willing to pay for a datahand you would think some bright spark would put them into production again. Many people with RSI who have to type for a job would kill for one, i have seen stories of people buying them for 1000s and they openly admit its a small price to pay to keep them working or doing what they love. Even if its in the high 100s i don't see why it cannot be done to have them made again.
EDIT
I hope whoever gets it is someone who needs it and not a collector that will just sit there and look at it

i use most of my rare keyboards whenever i can , hell i am in an open office right now slamming on a 122

i have another one sitting on my desk at home and rotate in the beamspring when i can.

Ahh, thought it was a rebranded Acer KB-101A, eh?
These cases are showing up in more places than I thought. We have the Acer KB-101A, the 6011, and the 6311-K that all use this design.
Now this.
