Finally my Canadian friend! Pics when you areready plz. My guess is you will like Topre, a lot. I used to rant and flame Topre for the insane prices, but they are very good in their own way.

Well, they'll be arriving only slightly after my two 5251s. It's time for a battle of the giants: best mechanical vs best rubber dome!
As well-built Realforce keyboards are, I can already predict that the build quality component of this head-to-head will go to the 5251

- note please, weight.

Yes of course, but that's like comparing a 1960's general motors car with a 1990's japanese car! In fact don't drop one of your 5251's on that Topre or you'll be left with japanese shambles!

Hmm. One of them is an environmental and safety disaster?
No, one is built like a tank. Safety disaster possibly also, if you drop it.

This is a couple months' of acquisitions, funded by some keyboard sales, some trades, some Christmas gifts, and a whole lot of luck. I don't post in this thread very often. I'll add them all to my online keyboard collection soon enough.
I also only get things on a deal, but, do pick up deals when they come up. The XF01TS was purchased at Tsukumo by a friend visiting Japan! The Type Heaven was a roughly half price Craigslist find

. The 3278 was, well, a minor miracle, a friend decided to sell it to me. All shall be revealed in due time.
The IKBC boards are strategic acquisitions. I want to have a look at the design decisions they made for their (very nice) aluminum cases and see if we can't do something similar with the Hall boards.

Let's crack open our Type Heavens to harvest the rubber domes and slider housings then we'll continue
attheicearcade's Topre experiments using
JTK Sliders to create
the next XMIT Keyboard.
This is my dream. Yes, I dream of XMIT.

FWIW, if going that route I'd forego all the capsense nonsense and just put a magnet in the bottom of the sliders. There is no reason you can't have a Hall effect board with Topre domes underneath. It's worth a shot one of these days.

Got this white damped alps M3501 for about $80CAD shipped with import fees. If this thing was even used at all, it must've been like 10 times or something. A scuff on the back (probably from moving it around?) but other than that the whole thing is pristine white still. Pause key is a little crooked, but it doesn't bother me too much.

My first and only Focus FK-2001!
Except this one is a unicorn!
One popped up last year on eBay, but these are like, extremely rare as far as I can tell. I couldn't let this one go.

I partially bought it for myself, partially so it wouldn't get lost to the shadowy depths of lurker oblivion, and partially because I had you in mind, Chyros.
Haha. There might be an opportunity for a trade sometime in the future! I have to say though, it is a really cool board.
The switches are in great shape. I never realized how charming these FK-2001s were until now.

@Chyros, well now we know where it went. At least it didn't completely disappear, and it went to a good home.

Bought this today, hopefully I can fix it and add a TMK PS2->USB converting unit; maybe a trackpoint ...

I wonder if the seller is someone who visits this forum.

Wanted to spend less money for keyboards, bought a Cherry HAD keycapset and a alps spherical keycapset.

Got lucky on an industrial M13 but thought I'd play with it a little and am thinking about putting on black M13 buttons/labels. Buttons are photoshopped in but I have a spare set from a bad M13 keyboard (that's where the label came from). It came with red and black trackpoint rubber tops. I like the black with this color scheme. What do you think?

Here's most of the stuff I've bought in the past while from the thrift stores in my area. A couple items are from a lucky kijiji find (a craigslist type of site in Canada). I have a few more items and photos, but this covers most of it and it's way past my bed time already. I'll try to post the others tomorrow.

EDIT - That Datavac was totally bought new, I just remembered it was in the photo. Jesus, what a powerful duster that is. As loud as a shop vac but just as powerful too. Just think of a shop vac (500W motor) with its flow reversed

Yeah that's just about my favorite thing in there too. I was thrilled to find that. The owner took good care of it. Everything, down to the single page advertising slips are still in the box - a map of the game, that huge (200 or so page) game manual with a metal ringed spine. No one gives you a nice game manual anymore : /
Snuci, I like the black on gray too - looks great!
