I always seem to forget what this board is
http://www.ebay.com/itm/262654569284
It looks like Keytronic model F clone, but lock LEDs are different.

That lock led cutout screams cherry to me.

Yep. Definitely Cherry.

Fun one for you.
Sony brand keyboard that uses Japan stamped OMRON B3G-S switches, and has an oddball key layout, picked it up today for 108 yen ($1)
No model printed/stamped anywhere externally.

Nice one!
The legends and logo look very similar to those seen on the
Sony NEWS keyboards. Got any other info on the keyboard or what it was used with?

I don't have the exact model number but its from a high end (in the day) video editing workstation, all there was of it was a bunch of thick manuals and a box of cables, so i picked out the weird ps/2 variant to AT cable that was in with the bunch and bought just the keyboard, the store has the full unit but its in storage, i asked them to dig it out for me to take a look at tomorrow so i can get the info and (wife murdering me permitting) potentially buy it.
Keyboard feels extremely nice to use, dont have a din to ps/2 converter on hand and no idea if its XT proto or otherwise for the time being, im guessing its from around 1987-1989

Okay so the complete unit that the keyboard above is from consists of:
Sony Videotizer SMI-3075
Sony Video Professional Computer SMC-3000G
Sony Digital Multi Effects DME-450 base unit
Sony Digital Multi Effects DME-450 control unit
Sony Editing Control Unit RM-450
Both the last two also use B3G-S Japan marked white omron switches, with the DME-450 actually populating the LED slots, which I took a pic of:
And a shot of the computer part of the set:
Other stuff I dug up on it:
https://goodoldbits.wordpress.com/2015/ ... 2-package/
http://www.geocities.jp/retro_zzz/machi ... c3000.html
http://park8.wakwak.com/~kaineko2/keybo ... 30208.html
As an added bonus I got it working on the teensy code posted elsewhere on these forums, and uploaded a custom configuration to fix the various keys.

Oh zomg, I have some of these switches but I'd never heard of them being used in an actual board Oo . Nice find!

You could get some serious function layers going in that thing.

This neat-looking
Canon keypad sold on eBay a day or two ago, fairly quickly too:
I'm really curious as to what switches it might use.

Here's an obscure Omron NCR LK201 clone that uses these switches and has really nice dyesubbed caps.

Omron boards are rather obscure, but I think this board had Omron-made caps.

Ugh that's nice E3E.

(I wish it was mine

)
The story behind the keyboard is that a bunch of ex-NCR employees founded their own company and took some NCR equipment with them. This keyboard is an example! The guy who owns it is very attached so it's most certainly staying with him.
I haven't seen another one before. It is indeed very nice though.

Oof, that IS nice. Omron is a pretty interesting keyboard company tbh.

The top board in the 2nd photo looks like a chicony kb-5181, I could be wrong though.

Ussualy, if an old looking keyboard has windows keys, it's a rubberdome.

Instead of posting one by one, can you just lay them all out and take a group shot?

Thank you.
These are different offers and I wanted to see other opinions before making a decision. I started to understand the differences. But this keyboard had no windows key and looked promising.

You were probably drawn to the lot above by the keyword "Cherry". I spot five keyboards in there that I think are
Cherry G83-6000, but that is a rubber dome model and the keycaps are not compatible with Cherry MX. The keycaps on those look the same as on the G80 models on the outside but have different stems.
One of the other keyboards could
maybe be a
BTC 5140 which is one of the nicer rubber domes and which has mostly Cherry MX-compatible keycaps... but it is difficult to tell from that picture.
