I think I lost some interest in Skulls. Would be happy to see some Topre arrows ( to fit HHKB Fn placement) but it seems today there are only MX ones.

By the way Geekhack is down again just when the sale begin

That's what we all said a few days ago on EK. I even got in when it said "in stock: YES"

by MyNameIsFinn
This isnt Ek, wth are you talking about, im talking about the GH selling. The server crashed meaning no one had a chance to buy anything, it crashed 10min before 4 PST

So how does this happen, does someone DDoS the site except for themselves and thus take all the key caps?

Posted: 10 Mar 2012, 01:15
by litster
maybe CC needs to do his sale on DT instead.

I'm joking around. But this is typical. No server access, then SOLD OUT. :-/

Although I prefer GH I agree, less crashes seems to be much more stable here.

Hell, how is CC going to check his PMs with the site down like this?

Posted: 10 Mar 2012, 01:18

Instead of 3 keys per person the thing would be nice if they do a lottery

1 key per person :S

He wont be able to and he wont have any PMS because EVERYONE ELSE IS DCEDDDDDDD :(

Someone is probably DDoSing to piss us off, not to get key caps

He should pick 20 random numbers and let people put in guesses over a few days. Then sell to the winners. Restrict sales to those who have no CC Keys

I think it's a very distributed attack of F5 warriors.

Probably, but why F5 you just have to PM him...

After it says: "Server is too busy at the moment.", is there any point in just letting the page keep loading, or should you just hit Esc and F5 again?

I have PMs over there, and this is wasting time.

It seems prudent to let it load. But I dunno.

It's quite funny to see how Deskthority always receives all the whining when Geekhack goes down and then people leave us alone when everything is alright

Here we use an automated script for this stuff. Just picks everyone who replied in a topic or who voted in a poll within a certain amount of time, optionally checks for a minimum number of posts, picks one or more random winners.

If you press F5 enough times, you too can win fantasy prizes in the last contest.
